01The Brief

A 600-seat recital and lecture hall on a tight capital budget, with no room for acoustic plaster or upholstered wall absorption.

02Acoustic Challenge

Speech had to carry to the back row at a 28m throw with no electronic reinforcement, and the south glazing the faculty wanted ruled out absorption on that wall.

03TRI-STATE ACOUSTICS's Solution

Recycled PET felt baffles, 100mm deep, hung on a 600mm grid aligned to the primary structure and color-matched to the exposed concrete soffit.

04Outcome

RT60 settled at 0.92s with STI of 0.74 to the back row, and the felt is GREENGUARD Gold certified for the campus low-emission standard.
